What is EntroPay?

EntroPay is a virtual Visa card that can be used to pay for your online shopping sprees, or to make deposits or withdrawals at EntroPay bingo sites. It is prepaid, so there is no stress about revealing your real debit card information. Just like the cards you already have in your wallet it has a 16-digit number, a security code and expiry date. The difference is that you have to transfer money to this virtual card before you can use it. It’s a great option, if you want to keep a tight reign on your spending, because you can only spend what has already been transferred to your EntroPay account Overdrafts are impossible, and you also have the peace of mind that should your card be stolen there will be a cap on how much you lose.

There are plenty of old and new bingo sites that accept EntroPay, and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

How EntroPay works

The first step is to visit the EntroPay website and set up an account. Your virtual Visa card will be available straight away, but you’ll need to place some funds in your account before you start playing at EntroPay bingo sites. This is a very simple process that starts by clicking on the “add a new payment method” button. You can fund your account from your bank account or another debit card. Once your payment details have been added you use them to load funds onto to your virtual card.

An EntroPay card has the Visa logo, so if you want to play at an online bingo site that doesn’t allow EntroPay payments you may still be able to make a deposit by choosing the debit card option for payment, and entering your EntroPay card details. However, this may cause problems, and is not recommended as a longterm solution. Many bingo sites will eventually ask for a photocopy of your card for security reasons, and EntroPay is a virtual payment method so there isn’t a physical card to copy.

There are fees involved with using EntroPay to fund your bingo experience. These aren’t charged by bingo sites that accept EntroPay, but by EntroPay itself. These fees make this payment method one of the most expensive, especially for larger payments. For anything up to £100 the charges are bearable. More than that and you’d be better off choosing another method.

Who are EntroPay?

EntroPay was launched in 2003, by a company called Ixans Systems Ltd. Available for both business and personal customers to make use of, wherever located in the world. The company brought the first virtual prepaid Visas to Europe and specialise in online payment processing.

Registered in the UK, with a registered address in London, there are also offices in the USA and Europe. EntroPay are members of the Sunday Times Tech Track 100, and offer very safe and secure methods for both buyers and sellers. There are regulations in place, as well as constant monitoring, to ensure all anti-money laundering laws, anti-fraud measures are followed and operate under a policy of “knowing your customers”.

The pros and cons of using EntroPay for your online bingo payments

Safety is the biggest benefit with this payment method. You don’t have to put in your debit card details when making a deposit or requesting a withdrawal. And because you have to fund your account when you want to top it up it also means that:

Should your card fall into the wrong hands there will likely be little or no money in the account, especially if you’ve already transferred it to one of your chosen EntroPay bingo sites.

It puts a limit on your spending, and will hopefully reduce the chances of your getting carried away with your playing. By logging into your EntroPay account you can also keep track of your bingo spending.

The main downfall of this method of payment is cost. 4.95% is charged by EntroPay when you want to send funds and £3 every time you want to return funds to your bank account or card. And should you be lucky enough to win a jackpot and withdraw your winnings EntroPay will take their cut in the form of a 1.95% fee. Overtime these costs can be quite a heavy burden.
