Mecca Bingo has launched its latest advertising campaign. Titled “Legends of Play”, the integrated campaign has been created by The MISSION Group with the aim of increasing brand consideration and helping Mecca to attract new players, both to its clubs and its online bingo site.

The campaign seeks to celebrate Mecca Bingo’s heritage through humour while establishing it as the first choice for bingo players thanks to its experience and position as the UK’s oldest existent bingo brand.

The latest Mecca Bingo ad campaign has gone live on several television channels, including ITV, Media 15, Axiom, 360 Media and Sky. The adverts are voiced by the comedian Jessica Knappett and the adverts feature well-known and easily identifiable historical figures such as Henry VIII, Cleopatra, Vikings and cavemen.

The various characters can be seen enjoying online bingo on devices ranging from stone tablets to jewel-encrusted mobile phones, and it instantly became one of our favourite bingo ads.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you can take a look at the video below:

Two-Year Campaign to Run on TV, Radio, and Online

It is set to be a long-term campaign with VoD streaming, radio, YouTube, and digital aspects launching over the coming two years.

Speaking about the campaign, Dylan Bogg, chief creative officer at MISSION, said:

“We’re thrilled to launch a stand-out and fun new positioning for Mecca Bingo. Our tongue-in-cheek campaign celebrates Mecca as the original bingo brand with a fun twist, that shows that Mecca really is the legend of play, since back in the day.”

Anna Venturas, the marketing director for Rank Interactive, which is the owner of the Mecca Bingo brand, also celebrated the launch of the new campaign:

“We’re excited to launch Mecca’s biggest advertising campaign to date. As the nation’s most recognisable bingo brand, we wanted a campaign that nods to our expertise, while using Mecca’s playful tone of voice to attract new players. We’re delighted that Mission has hit the spot with ‘Legends of Play’.”

Legendary Deals Accompany Legends of Play

To accompany the launch of the new advertising campaign, Mecca Bingo also launched a Legendary Deals promotion.

In total, the promotion will feature 14 Legendary Deals, which will be updated weekly during the promotional period (25 July to 1 September). This means that it is not yet known what will be on offer over the coming weeks. However, based upon the first week, there will be plenty to look forward to.

The promotion began with a £2,500 cash prize draw. There were ten winners who shared the prize fund equally and entries were earned simply by betting £5 in any bingo room.

Next came a number of £1,000 Escalator games together with six £1,000 bingo games and four £500 bingo games. At the same time, those in the Loose Women room could enjoy a number of Bestie Games, which randomly paired up players to make it easier to win prizes.

On the final day of July, those who bet at least £10 in the Penny Lane room automatically qualified for a £2.50 bingo bonus. There were also Buy One Get One Free (BOGOF) games in Main Event and Two Little Ducks.

August began with Escalator games with enormous jackpots of £30k, £15k, and £10k, and tickets for these games cost between 5p and 10p. There was also a cashback offer over the weekend and further escalator games to kickstart the next week.

There are still four weeks to come of the Legendary Deals promotion and it seems safe to assume that there will be some fantastic opportunities to win big. While keeping an eye out for Mecca Bingo’s new adverts on television, radio and online, be sure to also keep an eye on the site’s promotions page to make sure that you are up to date with all the latest offers.

Additionally, you can rest assured about the security aspect because Mecca is licensed by the UKGC.
