There has been another huge winner at the Mecca Hall in Parkhead, Glasgow. A player won £50,000 playing the National Bingo Game at the venue in July, marking the area’s fourth big jackpot win of the year.

The winner has chosen to remain anonymous but she is known to be a regular player at the club. The jackpot was won when she successfully matched all the numbers on her card and called ‘house’ within the first 16 ball calls.

According to Isobel Spenser, the bingo caller at the venue, the atmosphere was “buzzing” once the player realised she had won. Isobel, who has been working for Mecca for more than 27 years, said:

“As I called the 16th number the customer shouted. I recognised her immediately and it was so exciting to make one of our regular players a big winner. The whole place was buzzing and our lovely winner was stunned – I don’t think she really believed it until we let off the confetti canons to celebrate! I get on really well with all the customers but the delight on people’s faces when they win big is the best thing about being a caller.”

A Winning Year for Glasgow’s Bingo Players

As mentioned, there have now been four jackpot winners in Glasgow this year. The previous one was in May at the Drumchapel Mecca Bingo club. That winner also chose to remain anonymous, but speaking at the time, the general manager of the club, Alistair Steel, said:

“The winner claimed a full house and initially thought she’d won £50, which she was pleased with. When we verified her win and clarified that she’d actually won £50,000 she was stunned! She’d decided on a whim to join her family on a day out and couldn’t quite believe her luck. She was delighted when we told her how much she’d won, she hadn’t realised the size of the jackpot prizes!”

As we previously reported, there was an enormous win by a player from Paisley back in April. The player won a special £125,000 jackpot playing the National Bingo game at the Mecca Bingo venue on Saucel Crescent. According to the bingo caller at the time, Connor Wilson, the player “started shaking and burst into tears with shock” upon learning she had won before asking for a cup of tea when offered a bottle of bubbly.

The first big Glasgow bingo win of the year took place at the end of January. It was another £50,000 National Bingo Game jackpot, and it was won by Susan, a 40 years long bingo player. The 67-year-old plays at the club every week and she said that at first, she didn’t believe it when her husband turned to her and told her she’d won the big jackpot. She said that she would probably use the money to treat herself to a new car.

Daily Chances to Win the Jackpot

While Glaswegian players do seem to be having a lot of luck this year, you can win the National Bingo Game jackpot in bingo clubs right across the UK. Furthermore, it is not only available at Mecca Bingo Clubs, it can be played at Club 3000 venues and at clubs run by many other smaller bingo operators.

The game runs twice daily, 364 days a year, with tickets priced at £1 for a strip of two or £2 for a strip of five. As noted, the £50,000 jackpot is awarded for achieving a full house in 16 numbers or fewer. A second prize of £1,000 is given for a full house in 20 numbers or fewer, and a prize of £100 is available for a full house in 24 numbers or fewer.

Alternatively, you can play online bingo and try to win enormous jackpots at any time of day or night from your computer or your mobile device. Additionally, you don’t need to worry about online safety, as the site is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.
