Those in Luton looking for something alternative to do to mark Valentine’s Day can head to the town’s Mecca Bingo hall for a special Boots Down Bingo night complete with famous drag queens and the chance to win amazing holidays.
This Friday, February 16, the event organised by The Bingo Factory is taking place in Mecca Luton on Skimpot Road. It will be hosted by Ophelia B and Karla Bear and feature drag queens Baga Chipz MBE and Alexis Saint-Pete.
There will be singing, dancing, catwalk struts, and various performances together at Luton’s bingo hall Mecca drag bingo action, and Alexis has warned visitors to expect “being drunk to the point where you don’t know who you are.”
We have talked about how drag bingo became entertainment, so you know what to expect or do you?
Alexis explained that the night is designed to help people “forget about their problems and enjoy their lives”, but she did warn players to:
“Expect to have a hangover the next day, but there will not be a better feeling because it would be an amazing event where you’ll be able to win fabulous prizes, like a trip to Paris.”
The romantic Paris trip will be the perfect Valentine’s Day prize for a lucky player. Still, there is much more up for grabs, including giant cuddly toys, mystery prize boxes, Mecca event tickets, gift vouchers, Henry Hoovers, and more.
The event is part of Alexis’s Domination UK tour, which means that if you are not near Luton or you are busy this Friday, you have plenty of other chances to enjoy this unique event. Other destinations are Dagenham, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Glasgow, Leeds Hull, and Sheffield.
Cheekily, Alexis has warned that, “If you are bringing your husband, please do know that he might not be going home with you at the end of the night.” She added:
“ag queens as well, what more could you want?! You’ll be able to win amazing prizes, as well as having fun. It’s something that will get you closer with your family and friends because it’s such an entertaining event. It’s something that you will not forget, for sure. And have fun and that’s the most important thing.”
Players at the Boots Down Drag Bingo night in Luton can enjoy far more than the show. Before the action starts, there is a meet and greet at 9 pm (although VIP ticket holders can enter even earlier at 8:30 pm). The bingo action starts at 9:30 pm and lasts right the way through to 1 am.
Speaking about the event, Baga Chipz added:
“Boots Down Bingo is always the most fun and wild tour, we always have the best fun at Mecca Bingo. The bingo lovers do know how to party. Expect more chaos, more drag and bigger prizes for this brand new tour for 2024.””
There are still tickets available for the Luton event, with general entry costing £12 and entry with the meet and greet costing £20. It then costs an extra £5 to take part in the bingo games.
Mecca Bingo isn’t the only operator running special bingo parties. Buzz Bingo has a huge number of events lined up at its clubs over the coming months. There are the Million Dollar Men, described as offering “heart-stopping performances, hot hunks, and ballsy bingo”, Bingo Rhapsody, which is a fun-packed night of bingo and the music of Queen, Grease vs Dirty Dancing and many more. You will also find events in smaller independent bingo clubs, so be sure to check to see what is on in your area.
There are also plenty of exciting online bingo events, so no matter where you are, the action is never far away.
