Earlier this month, Playtech and Buzz Bingo announced that they were extending their long-term partnership by rolling out 10,000 Electronic Bingo Terminals (EBTs) produced by Playtech’s subsidiary ECM Systems to its bingo clubs across the UK.
The companies hailed the development saying that it is both a demonstration of Buzz Bingo’s commitment to players and shows the strength of the partnership between the two. The EBTs are touchscreen devices that offer the latest bingo software on faster, better hardware, enhancing the player experience. Тechnology plays a crucial role in modern bingo gaming, these innovations bring Buzz Bingo in line with the seamless, high-quality experience offered by leading online bingo sites.
The ECM devices are designed to provide players with a more interactive and immersive experience that is made possible with customisable software. The introduction of the devices is part of Buzz Bingo’s aim to provide its customers with a truly omnichannel experience.
Speaking about the rollout, Marat Koss, VP of Interactive Gaming at Playtech, said:
“This achievement is a significant milestone in our strategy for the growth of our bingo proposition and within the industry. By equipping Buzz Bingo with these advanced EBTs, we are not only enhancing the player experience but also extending the highest standard for bingo entertainment. Our continued collaboration with Buzz Bingo exemplifies our commitment to innovation and excellence in the gaming sector. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire team for their hard work and dedication in making this possible.”
Dave Evans, Chief Product Officer at Buzz Bingo, added:
“We’re delighted to be working with our long-standing partner Playtech’s ECM Systems to bring these brand-new tablets to our bingo venues. This investment is all about improving the experience for our players with faster, more responsive hardware using the latest software. Seeing the touchpads being prepared at ECM’s workshop in Hull was a fantastic moment and we believe this will continue to enhance our customers’ experience significantly. This brand-new hardware will really power up our omnichannel games. What an exciting start to 2025!”
The Managing Director of ECM, Paul Hodgson, said that the new EBTs have been designed to ensure player engagement and entertainment. He explained that the devices are capable of running all of the bingo and slot games that Buzz Bingo offers and that the company is proud to have supplied 10,000 of the devices. He added that they are currently working on a number of enhancements to the user interface and said that there are some exciting projects coming up that will take advantage of the omnichannel system that links the clubs with online players.
Soon after the announcement regarding the Buzz Bingo EBTs, Playtech announced the launch of an exciting new omni-channel bingo game at Buzz, Big Money Live.
The game brings together online and land-based players across all of Buzz Bingo’s clubs and provides them with a shared, exciting experience with the aid of a low-latency video stream and an engaging game host.
While the game officially launched at the end of last year, it was only announced last week. The debut game had a record-breaking £100,000 prize pool, which was the biggest omni-channel bingo prize offered in the UK.
Big Money Live is streamed to players from Buzz Bingo’s studio in Derby. It takes place twice each day, every day of the week. Playtech, ECM Systems, and Buzz Bingo all worked together to develop the game with the aim of appealing to both online and retail players. Notably, Buzz Bingo operates under strict regulations, holding licenses from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and the Gibraltar Gambling Commission (GGC), ensuring fair play and player protection across all its offerings.
Speaking about the new game, Koss added:
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Buzz Bingo on this project. Big Money Live represents a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in the gaming industry. This collaboration showcases our ability to deliver top-tier technology solutions, such as the ECM handheld machines, that enhance player experiences across multiple channels, including online and retail. We’ve already received great feedback from the industry over this offering and functionality.”
As mentioned, there are Big Money Live games daily, and they offer full house prizes of £2,000 or £5,000. However, this weekend, on Saturday, 1 March, there is another special £100,000 game taking place, and you can enter at home or in a club, so make sure you don’t miss out.
