There are some things that most people would agree are quintessentially British, such as tea, fish and chips and, of course, bingo. Now, a fish and chip restaurant in Doncaster is organising special bingo sessions, bringing all three together in events held twice a week.
Harry’s Fish Bar and Restaurant, located on the High Street in Dunsville, has started running lunchtime bingo sessions every Monday and Tuesday. For just £10, visitors can enjoy a small fish, chips and peas lunch served with a slice of bread and butter and a cup of tea, together with three games of bingo.
Each game of bingo has a prize for 1 line, 2 lines, and a full house, and those taking part can, of course, order extras and there is a full bar menu available. There is a £5 booking fee and the events run from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
This offers a unique alternative for online bingo enthusiasts looking to experience live bingo sessions, conveniently combined with delicious British food.
Not only are bingo sessions served at Harry’s Fish Bar and Restaurant, but there is also an impressive menu available. It includes cod, haddock, fishcakes, scampi, squid, and prawn cocktails. There are also sausages, haggis, chicken wings, and pies to enjoy.
Chip fans can enjoy regular chips, a chip butty, or a chip and cheese wrap, while there are also onion rings, fried cheeses, pickled onions and eggs, cockles, mussels, falafel, mac & cheese, kebabs, burgers, and jacket potatoes. To round off the experience, there is the choice of ice cream, chocolate brownies and apple pie for dessert.
The bar serves beers such as Peroni, San Miguel, and Old Speckled Hen, as well as a range of wines. There are also plenty of non-alcoholic drinks, both hot and cold.
While at the restaurant, it is worth seeing what else is going on, as Harry’s Fish Bar and Restaurant also runs regular raffles with some amazing prizes up for grabs. The restaurant also offers a number of special meal deals and it hosts other events, such as social evenings.
For instance, the restaurant is already planning its Christmas event. For £15, children can have their photo taken with Santa, receive a gift, and enjoy any kids’ meal. For £20, adults can enjoy a choice of meal with a side of bread and butter, a soft drink, tea or coffee, and a mince pie. The Christmas events are running on Saturday, 30th November, Sunday, 1st December, and Sunday, 15th December, and must be booked in advance.
In short, if you are in the Doncaster area, then a trip to Harry’s Fish Bar and Restaurant seems like an experience you won’t regret.
