One of the many wonderful things about bingo is the way it can be used in support of good causes, and this is exactly what one graduate of the University of East Anglia has set about doing.

Rosie Anne Peat has organised an event to raise funds for Age UK Norwich. The Bingo Bonanza will be taking place on Saturday, 23rd November, from 3 pm to 4:30 pm at the Mecca Bingo venue in Norwich.

For those unable to attend in person, online Mecca Bingo offers an alternative way to enjoy bingo on its online platform.

All proceeds from the event will be donated directly to the charity, which works to provide essential services and support to those in later life who live in the Norwich area.

The organiser of The Bingo Bonanza has explained that she is particularly interested in the clubs, trips and events that the charity runs for those aged 50+, and the work they do to increase social connections and reduce loneliness.

Rosie said:

“I am passionate about supporting Age UK Norwich, and I believe that our upcoming Bingo Bonanza is a fantastic chance for everyone to come together and have fun while making a difference. I am amazed and grateful to all the businesses who have supported this event so far. So, we encourage everyone to come along and join us for a night of laughter, bingo, amazing cakes and prizes and finally, community spirit.”

20 Prizes and an Afternoon of Fun

Tickets for the afternoon cost just £8 and the event will feature a number of traditional bingo games with more than 20 prizes up for grabs, including vouchers, gift baskets, cinema tickets, jewellery, gym passes, and much more. There will also be a bake sale with cakes and cookies donated by Easters Bakery Norwich available.

The fundraiser will begin with a welcome cup of tea or coffee, followed by the first round of bingo. There will then be a food and drink break followed by a second round of bingo. The event will then conclude with speeches from the charity and event organisers. It promises to be a wonderful afternoon in support of a truly worthy cause, so those in the Norwich area should be sure to stop by and join the action.
