Listen to this article:Bingo Lingo, which is well known in Cardiff as one of the best nights out that the city has to offer, has announced that it is moving to Cardiff Bay’s Tiger Yard for a month-long series of outdoor weekend shows this summer.
Rather than taking place at DEPOT Cardiff, starting August 2nd, all Bingo Lingo events will be taking place outside at the waterside Tiger Yard. Those familiar with them will be able to enjoy the same high-energy, interactive bingo events but in a fresh setting that promises an amazing atmosphere and a beautiful view as the sun sets.
The DEPOT group owns and operates both Bingo Lingo and Tiger Yard as well as DEPOT Cardiff, the city’s most successful independent entertainment venue. Speaking about the move, the brand’s Operations Manager, Rhys Hartley, said:
“We can’t wait to take Bingo Lingo outdoors to Cardiff Bay! This is a unique opportunity to experience the best of both worlds: the unbeatable energy of Bingo Lingo in a vibrant, open-air setting – along with some delicious treats from Tiger Yard’s bars and resident street food traders.”
Cardiff’s Tiger Yard is an outdoor food course located in Cardiff Bay. It is home to six permanent kitchens alongside two bars, all built using 22 rainbow-coloured shipping containers. The new home of Bingo Lingo can host up to 1,000 people at a time, and since it opened in the summer of 2023, it has been the venue for a variety of events ranging from street-food festivals to live music, charity events, and more.
Bingo Lingo promises to provide an unforgettable night mixed together with massive party tunes, on-stage battles, top-name performers, and hilarious hosts. Of course, there is also the chance to win some amazing prizes, not just from bingo but also from lip sync battles, dance-offs, and more.
Over the last 8 years, Bingo Lingo has welcomed hundreds of thousands of people to its events and run shows in more than fifty locations. Beyond Cardiff, it has been to Liverpool, Birmingham, Southampton, London, Manchester, Oxford, Reading, Glasgow, and more, including Ibiza.
It’s billed as the perfect night for celebrations, such as birthdays, hen and stag parties, work parties, and so on. Participants will find themselves caught up in nostalgic singalongs and non-stop dancing.
There is also plenty of bingo action, with most events containing 5 games of 3 bingo boards with some amazing prizes to be won, such as giant teddy bears, inflatable hotdogs, and even holidays.
The events at Tiger Yard begin at 6 pm, with the last entry at 7:30 pm. Those with tickets can sit at a table with friends and enjoy the club environment until 11 pm.
However, you will have to be fast. The early-release tickets have already sold out for a number of dates. Luckily, there are second-release tickets available, which cost just £13.45. It is also possible to purchase a group ticket for 8 people for just £116.85.
The Bingo Lingo events are taking place at Tiger Yard on August 2, August 9, August 16, August 23, and August 30. If you can’t make it this month, then don’t worry, there are plenty of regular event nights in its usual home at DEPOT Cardiff throughout September and beyond.
Bingo Lingo isn’t going to be everybody’s cup of tea, but don’t worry, there are plenty more places to enjoy bingo in Cardiff. There is a fantastic Club 3000 bingo hall that is about to undergo a £2 million refurbishment, which will make it even better. It is open every day and will remain open throughout the refurbishment. There are also a couple of Castle Bingo venues in Newport Road and New Canton, and of course, online bingo is always available no matter where you are.
