Listen to this article:February is fast approaching and with it comes Valentine’s Day, and whatever your relationship status, it can all feel a bit over the top. Luckily, as with so many situations in life, the upcoming bingo event can provide the perfect solution.
If you are in the Barnsley area and are looking for a different way to celebrate Valentine’s Day, then you are in luck as Barnsley Civic is hosting a ‘Cheesy Bingo Party’.
The theatre’s event is advertised as a night of music, madness, and maximum fun, complete with the cheesiest tunes from Vengaboys, S Club, MJ, Wham, and more. Attendees can expect sing-a-longs, ridiculous prizes, surprises, all-round madness, and the craziest games of bingo you have ever come across.
Tickets can be bought here for £18 on The Civic’s website, where it says:
“The host has got the bingo numbers, the DJ has got the cheesiest party tunes, we’re talking maximum cheese! That’s right, S Club, Vengaboys, MJ, Wham….you just need to get the drinks in!
“This is not just a party, it’s a bingo party! Dance, sing, laugh, drink, have the best night out ever!
“Get your Dabbers out and your dancing shoes on. Oh!!!… and somebody will be leaving with a giant inflatable unicorn!”
The bingo event begins at 7:30 pm on Valentine’s Day (14 February), and it is expected to last approximately three hours.
If you are a Valentine’s Day traditionalist, then you can, of course, go for a romantic candlelit dinner before or after the party. For those who aren’t lucky enough to be in the Barnsley area, there are plenty of printable Valentine’s Day bingo games available online, so you could host your own bingo party. Just be sure to start looking for the inflatable unicorn prize soon, as they always sell out fast.
